What is the IVWA?
The Idaho Victim Witness Association is a non-profit organization specifically for victim service professionals in Idaho. The mission of the IVWA is to promote professional standards and procedures, and to provide training and support for members in order to facilitate effective assistance for crime victims throughout the State of Idaho.
Who Should Join the IVWA?
IVWA members include Victim/Witness Coordinators in both law-enforcement and prosecution-based agencies, as well as employees of the Idaho Crime Victim’s Compensation Program and victim service professionals employed in community-based advocacy agencies.
What are the Benefits of Membership?
The IVWA has a great history of networking amongst its members. The IVWA provides support for its members through networking, providing updated information on victim’s rights issues, as well as providing training opportunities on specific victim service related issues. The IVWA also offers scholarships for its members to attend national trainings as well as a mentoring program for new coordinators.
How Do I Become A Member?
It’s easy! If you qualify for a membership, just click on the link below to fill out the membership form and send it in with your payment. You qualify for a voting membership if you are a Victim/Witness Coordinator in either a law-enforcement or prosecution based agency, or if you are an employee of the Idaho Victim’s Compensation Program. If you qualify as a voting member, you must join and renew as a voting member. If you are a victim service professional in a community-based agency (such as an advocate or counselor) you may join as a non-voting member.
